Our Beautiful Northeast Texas Camps

Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas boasts five camp locations, each with its own special charm, that offer a variety of year-round environments and experiences. The camps are a valuable resource for day trips to hike, picnic, learn about nature, practice outdoor skills, or simply see the stars on a clear night in an unpolluted sky. The facilities support overnight camping for a weekend retreat, school holidays and breaks or extended summer camping sessions.

Camp Bette Perot
Location:   Southeast of Dallas, between Athens and Palestine, Texas.
Units:   Cabins, lodges, and platform tents.
Award-winning equestrian center, swimming pool, ropes/challenge course, extensive nature study sites, and a sports/game area.

Camp Bette Perot is the home of the award winning Tejas Riders, who provide countless hours of service to our equestrian program. The prestigious Tejas Riders Drill Team has received numerous trophies and honors in state and national competitions.
Camp Gambill
Location:   Beautifully wooded 54-acre facility located in Sumner, Texas.
Units:   Modern cabins with nearby showers and latrine facilities; and The Girl Scout Troop House featuring room and camp events, a kitchen and restrooms.
Facilities:   Sandy waterfront and swimming area protected by a floating pier, canoeing, kayaking, sand volleyball court, hiking trails, and a tranquil pond to discover marine life. Gander Hall - the dining and kitchen facilities and an air-conditioned infirmary.
Camp K (Kadohadacho)
Location:   150 acres on Lake Texoma in Pottsboro, Texas.
Units:   Rustic camp platforms to pitch tents on.
Facilities:   Access to bath house, fire circle, trails, amphitheater and waterfront on Lake Texoma for canoeing and swimming.
Camp Rocky Point
Location:   59.8-acres on Lake Texoma near Denison, Texas.
Units:   Platform tent units overlooking the lake, lodge unit, and primitive camping area.
Facilities:   Waterfront area on Lake Texoma for sailing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming, sports/game area, and hiking trails.
Camp Whispering Cedars
Location:   60-acre ranch 20 minutes from downtown Dallas, Texas.
Units:   Cabins, one lodge-type unit.
Swimming pool, nature study sites, day use area with cookout facility, and large central meeting/conference room is available for special events.

This camp is also home to the Archers of Northeast Texas - the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas archery program which supports our monthly troop archery program
