Girls of Note This patch encourages girls to continue one of the traditional skills of Girl Scouts: singing. Girls discover positive values as they learn and sing songs. They take action to make a difference in the world by performing their songs at a location of their choice such as a nursing home, Girl Scout Event or veteran's facility. Silver Lining Silver Lining (formally Adpot a Nursing Home), a program of the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS), is a statewide volunteer initiative with a goal to increase social connections through volunteer visits with people living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and people with mental retardation living in state schools/centers.
