The concept of a Leadership Journey – a series of coordinated activities grouped around a theme which allows girls to Discover what they care about, Connect with others who share their interests and concerns, and Take Action with a plan… all the while gaining specific knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors which provide the experience necessary to enable girls to lead with courage, confidence and character while making the world a better place – is something most can agree has great value.

Meeting Plans for GS Journeys

The question becomes “how do we tie our troop activities to leadership skills?” Below you will find helpful guides by Journey Series and grade level. Each guide contains suggestions for how to extend your troop year and incorporate the GS Journeys into your traditional curriculum. Journey meeting plans can be integrated with Try-Its, Badges and Interest Projects, field trips, and Girl Scout days to celebrate such as Founder’s Day, World Thinking Day, and the Girl Scout Birthday.

If your Girl Scouts are using any GSUSA resources now through March 2011, Summer 2011 or Fall 2011, click here for recommendations about how to plan ahead and prepare for all the changing resources! For answers to questions about all these changes, please refer to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

Note: These guides were created using the former GSUSA Badges that have been discontinued. For activities that reference old badges, please click here to see the recommended Badges for each GS Journey.
