The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas has been selected as one of only 16 councils nationwide to serve on the STEM Advocacy Taskforce. Councils’ partner with GSUSA’s Public Policy and Advocacy Office to become the voice for girls on STEM, which is a priority issue on the Girl Scouts legislative agenda. The team will strategize on how best to raise awareness for girls’ involvement in STEM in local communities and statewide, build coalitions, engage media and hold public events. In addition, each council is invited to promote the fall release of the Girl Scout Research Institute’s report on STEM.
