Financial Assistance and Scholarships

Gifts directed to the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas “Campership Fund” allow girls who would otherwise be unable to attend one of GSNETX’s six area camps to participate in one of the cornerstones of the Girl Scout experience--camping. Each year, Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas receives countless requests for financial assistance from families of girls of all ages who wish to attend Girl Scout camp. In 2008 and 2009, a total of $41,000 in scholarships were awarded to 400 girls between the ages of 6 and 17. These girls had the opportunity to participate in resident and day and twilight camps, as well as Girl Scout Troop camping, where they learned leadership, problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a safe environment.
