Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas seeks an Accountant that will be responsible for general accounting, managing and processing cash transactions, balance sheet account analysis, general ledger journal entries and budget analysis and reporting. In addition to these duties, the ideal candidate will handle accounts payable review and backup, sales tax reporting, assist with month end task resident camp payroll review and bank and credit card reconciliations.
Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent business degree, 1-2 years of experience in general accounting, and practical knowledge of accounting concepts, ability to work on multiple projects, attention to detail and proven ability to follow through, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office applications is required. - 5+ years as an HR Generalist with familiarity in all phases of HR Management.

Summer Camp Volunteers

True Beauty Boot Camp is a day camp for girls in sixth through tenth grades designed to help girls form their own definition of beauty, realize how their perceptions are affected by outside sources, work on teambuilding and develop confidence in themselves and their abilities. It is sponsored by GSNETX, uniquely ME! And the Dove Self-Esteem Fund. Camp activities will include design classes, charm and etiquette sessions, a spa day, discussions, projects, role playing, a field trip and more. The Girl Scout mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better placed. The camp will run July 21st through August 2nd in Dallas. Volunteers are needed to facilitate sessions, act as chaperones, plan events, conduct interviews and evaluations as well as a number of other volunteer opportunities. This position is responsible for administering the Council’s operating budget and capital budget. In addition, this position oversees the Finance, Business Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Retail and Property departments to ensure these operate efficiently and effectively while supporting the mission of Girl Scouts and complying with appropriate federal and state guidelines.
This position supports the work of the Board of Directors by serving as the lead staff on the Finance Committee, Property Committee and the Endowment Foundation Board, preparing reports and analysis to support effective governance and decision-making.
The successful candidate must have 10 years of professional experience including a minimum of five years in senior-leadership roles with oversight of all financial and administrative planning activities. The candidate should be a strong communicator with experience leading a seasoned management team and must be able to articulate operational and administrative strategies in a non-profit environment while demonstrating tangible examples of forecasting, reporting and improving financial impact. The successful candidate will have the ability to be a change agent for a growing organization of leaders. Minimum travel within all areas served by the agency is required. For optimal communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications is expected.

Resident camp positions are available. Adults 18 and over who enjoy working with youth can spend the summer at one of Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas resident camps as a staff member. Applicants who are 17 and have completed GSNETX or other recognized Counselor-In- Training (CIT) program may be considered for a position. All positions must be available to stay at camp Sunday, June 1 - Saturday August, 2,2008. Hiring salary will be based on experience, certification, and education.
