Every year, millions of girls across the United States gain valuable knowledge while providing the community with a special treat—Girl Scout Cookies! This year is no exception!

The Girl Scout Cookie Program begins in Northeast Texas on January 8 and goes through the end of March. One delicious new Girl Scout Cookie joins the cast this year: Thank U Berry Munch - a delightful cookie with real premium cranberries and creamy, white fudge chips. Everyone’s favorite Girl Scout Cookies are still available: Do-Si-Dos, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Dulce de Leche, Lemon Chalet Cremes, and the world-famous Thin Mints.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is an integral part of Girl Scouts’ Business and Economic Literacy initiative for girls in grades K through 12. Our Girl Scouts hit the streets of northeast Texas in early January, armed with business and entrepreneurship skills with one common goal – to sell Girl Scout cookies! That’s right! It’s Girl Scout cookie time! If a Girl Scout hasn’t made it to your house or office yet, be sure to look for them outside your local stores, beginning February 26th, when booth sales start.  Remember, by supporting the Girl Scout cookie program, you are supporting the premiere business and economic literacy program in the United States and helping to build our future leaders!

Sarah Omar celebrated her Girl Scout Gold Award at a special ceremony on June 6, 2009. She and Satvika Ananth chose their Girl Scout Gold Award project because of their pride of their heritage and culture.
