Program Description:  This is a fun way to learn about careers in a variety of fields from women who are working in those fields. Attend 3 hands-on workshops and learn about some of the things these women do on the job. Sample a field that interests you already or try one that you know nothing about. No previous knowledge required. No grades, just an opportunity to try something different.

This is the 20th year that the Southwest Dallas County AAUW has organized an Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) career day for girls of grades 6, 7, and 8. The girls attend 3 hands-on workshops presented by local professional women and teachers. The topics are all in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) fields but do not require any previous knowledge. These activities are designed to show the girls that science is fun, that they can do it, and that there are many interesting career areas open to those who continue their education in the STEM subjects.

Price:  $3 if registered by Jan. 31
$4 if registered between Feb. 1 - 26.
$5 if registered after Feb. 26.
Separate adult program is free.
