Playing the Past Junior Badge Workshop   Badge Program
Grade Levels Served:  J
Program Description:  A perfect segue from the Social Butterfly Badge (but NOT required), this workshop helps the modern Girls Scout better understand the days of long ago, back when Juliet Lowe was a girl. Participants will utilize the 3 oldest buildings at Chestnut Square, the 1845 Faires House, the 1863 Two Bit Taylor Inn and the 1892 Wilmeth Schoolhouse as they come to better understand what life was like for girls in the period of 1854-1863. Making and playing with toys, experiencing household chores like butter churning, and playing historically accurate games will be featured. The class will culminate in a school day experience in costumes provided by Chestnut Square in the schoolhouse.
