Through Girl Scouting, she'll take on new roles through our outdoor training programs, the Tejas Riders, and the Girl Scout Leadership Institute (GSLI). Check out the leadership programs for Girl Scouts just like you! You’ll meet other girls who want to make a difference in the lives of younger Girl Scouts and LOVE to make a difference!

Outdoor Training

Camp leadership programs for Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors are a great way to share your love of Girl Scouting and camp with younger girls. 

Counselor in Training (C.I.T.)
All C.I.T. leadership programs are two weeks long. All C.I.T. participants must attend 1 week of training at Camp Gambill the week of June 17-22 and sign up for at least one additional week as a C.I.T.

The cost is $250 for one week of training, plus $250 for each additional week of hands-on experience.

C.I.T. 1 (Entering Grades 10-12) | Ever wondered what it would be like to be a camp counselor? Do you have great ideas for crafts and games, love working with younger girls, and want to take the next step in your leadership journey? Come experience a new side of camp as a C.I.T.!

C.I.T. 2 (Entering Grades 11-12) | If you loved being a C.I.T. 1, then you won't want to miss out this summer on being a part of the C.I.T. 2 program where you will get even more of a chance to lead! Girls must have successfully completed C.I.T. 1.

Mariner in Training (M.I.T.)
All M.I.T. leadership programs are two weeks long. All M.I.T. participants must attend 1 week of training at Camp Gambill the week of June 17-22 and sign up for at least one additional week as a M.I.T. This leadership experience is offered at Camp Gambill and Camp Rocky Point.

The cost is $250 for one week of training, plus $250 for each additional week of hands-on experience.

M.I.T. 1 (Entering Grades 10-12) | Experience the life of an M.I.T. when you discover what it's like to assist with the waterfront program. If you love spending time at the lake, are a strong swimmer, and are ready for a new leadership experience, being a M.I.T. might just be what you're looking for!

M.I.T. 2 (Entering Grades 11-12)Did you have a fantastic time as a M.I.T. last summer? Are you ready for the next step in your leadership journey? Then this session is for you! Girls must have successfully completed the M.I.T. 1 program.

Wrangler in Training (W.I.T.)
Leadership programs require a separate application. Applications will be notified if they are accepted into the program and sent a camp registration form. Online registration is not accepted. There is limited space per session. This leadership experience is offered at Camp Bette Perot.

The cost is $250 for each week of hands-on experience.

W.I.T. 1 (Ages 14-17)If you are interested in someday becoming a riding instructor or would like to learn how an equestrian program is run, you might love speding a week at camp as a W.I.T. You'll improve your horse-related skills while spending time learning from EQ staff members. Girls must be 14 years old be the session date.

W.I.T. 2 (Ages 15-17) If you enjoyed being a W.I.T. last summer and can't wait to be back at the barn to learn even more about how an equestrian program is run, then W.I.T. 2 might be a perfect camp session for you! Girls must have successfully completed the W.I.T. 1 program.
