Launch into this fall team Engineering Challenge! Girl Scout Troops will learn woodworking, design thinking and engineering skills while constructing a trebuchet or catapult using STEM Center blueprints. This weekend includes a safety and physics workshop for all participants. STEM Center will provide all materials, building plans, and have community tools available for troop use. STEM Center team members will be on hand to assist Girl Scouts in building but this is intended to be a hands on girl led activity. Sunday morning, we will gather on the sports field for our 2nd annual Pumpkin LAUNCH!
Girl Scouts will work within a team to design, build, test and troubleshoot their creation over the course of the weekend. Skills development includes: teamwork, communication, creative problem solving, engineering design process, confidence and confidence in power tools, and perseverance when things get hard!
Girl Scouts will earn the think link Think Like an Engineer Journey.
Cost is per person - Girl Scout youth and adult. No meals are included. All participants need to be registered Girl Scouts and have a valid background check on file with GSNETX.
