Volunteer Experience

Be the mentor that supports a small group of girls every week—the one that watches their smiles get bigger as they grow more confident. Or work with other adults to provide the kind of behind-the-scenes support that makes it possible for girls to make amazing new memories at Girl Scouts.

Adults who register to volunteer to co-lead a troop with Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas through this promotion will receive:

A free Girl Scout tote bag, full of new volunteer resources
A free launch kit, with starter materials for a group of 12 girls
Pre-planned meeting guides 
Free Zoom license for the first year so you can facilitate virtual troop meetings

Free Membership FAQs

What is the age requirement for girl membership?
Membership in Girl Scouts is granted to any girl who is currently enrolled in K-12th grade

What is the age requirement for adult volunteers?
Volunteers are at least 18 years old OR is a high school graduate (or equivalent)

Can parents volunteer?
Yes! Be her cheerleader, guide, and mentor, helping her develop skills and confidence that will last a lifetime. Right now, you can also volunteer virtually and keep girls engaged and inspired in challenging times. Claim your free membership today!

What do Girl Scouts do?
Most girls participate with a group of girls of about the same age, known as a troop. Troops are organized by adult volunteers and earn badges for each new skill they learn. Learn more about the different ways to participate

When can we join?
Right now! In fact, it's always a good time to join Girl Scouts.  We’re flexible and can tailor your girl’s experience to her needs.

How much does it cost to join Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts is a great value! The annual membership fee is just $25 for the membership year beginning October 1, 2020. (We're covering this fee for you.) Optional costs may also include your girl’s Girl Scout uniform and program fees for activities your girl may want to participate in.

What about safety?
Safety is a top priority for Girl Scouts. All activities are supervised, and we provide our volunteers with top-notch training and program resources. We also follow comprehensive safety guidelines tailored to individual activities and girls' ages. We're continually adapting our programming and activities to promote the utmost safety and follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state recommendations for social distancing. 

Only residents of the following counties are eligible for this offer: Anderson, Camp, Cherokee, Collin, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Franklin, Freestone, Grayson, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Navarro, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rockwall, Rusk, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Van Zandt and Wood.
