Dallas Morning News Op-Ed by Girl Scouts CEO: Our girls struggled with anxiety at summer camp, and schools need to be prepare

We thank The Dallas Morning News for sharing a piece written by GSNETX CEO Jennifer Bartkowski on the challenges educators are facing this fall. At GSNETX, we're laser-focused on developing our girls' mental health and wellness, building their confidence, and increasing their ability to be resilient through our activities and programs. 

"Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas opened its summer resident camp season for the first time in two years in June. Even with staffing challenges and health protocols due to the pandemic, it was encouraging to know that we could finally get our girls together to socialize, have fun, and experience the great outdoors, all things they desperately needed and wanted," wrote Bartkowski. "But while we anticipated it would be a different kind of summer camp season, we underestimated the real challenges our girls are facing after 18 months of the pandemic environment."
