Girl Scouting in the School Day Group Leader - East Texas

We are the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, and we are looking for part-time Program Delivery Specialist (Group Leader) for our Girl Scouting in the School Day Program in East Texas.  With the right team of amazing people, we can help girls thrive in the 21st century. The Group Leader provides Girl Scout programs to girls in various school settings that will build courage, confidence and character in young girls. The Group Leader works with middle school girls during the school day. Will work 15 to 29 hours per week. We have positions available in the Longview and Tyler area.

After School Group Leader - Dallas

Community Programs provides high quality Girl Scout programs in various schools that include Uplift Education and Dallas ISD. The mission is to build courage, confidence and character in school age girls. The After School Group Leader (Program Delivery Specialist) facilitates the delivery of Girl Scout curriculum and programs, as well as helps girls with their language proficiency. The Program Delivery Specialist will be required to work afterschool.

AmeriCorps STEM Program Faciliator - Half Time

The AmeriCorps Program Facilitator is responsible for program delivery, chaperoning participants during assigned sessions, and assisting with station rotation and other girl involved activities. This person will share in the implementation and coordination of high-quality programming that meets the goals and objectives of GSNETX Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs at the STEM Center of Excellence.  We are offering two terms of service options: February through July 2020; or May through August.

We are looking for members as diverse as the community we serve and with the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident and authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must have a high school diploma or be willing to earn one while serving (undergraduate degree strongly preferred).

  • AmeriCorps Members will have access to students age 17 or younger, thus a National Service Criminal History Check is required. Must complete and pass a criminal background check.

  • Able to commit to completing 900 hours of half time service over 5 months with a living allowance of $9,000.00.

  • AmeriCorps members will be eligible for an education award upon successful completion of service with a satisfactory performance evaluation.

AmeriCorps Girl Scout Program Facilitator

AmeriCorps Cookie Program VISTA

At the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX), girls learn the skills, have the experiences, and cultivate the relationships that enable them to soar in life. The Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship VISTA will collaborate with the Product Sales team to provide financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs for girls in partnership with adult volunteers.

Member Duties: The Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship VISTA member will serve to strengthen the infrastructure within the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas organization to reach more girls and provide innovative 21st-century programming designed to build female leaders of tomorrow. The VISTA will help develop tools and resources for use in financial literacy 5 skills programming and digital media/cybersecurity/website development programming for girls participating in GSNETX financial literacy programs. The VISTA will build awareness and share program information with volunteers, schools and Girl Scout Programs including low-income and community outreach groups. The VISTA will establish new partnerships and opportunities for the financial literacy program, field trips, special events and community service projects. To ensure sustainable partnerships the VISTA members will develop reporting and tracking systems to document partnership commitments.

AmeriCorps Girl Scout Academy VISTA

At the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX), girls learn the skills, have the experiences, and cultivate the relationships that enable them to soar in life. Through the Girl Scout Academy model, the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas VISTA Members will help expand GSNETX’s reach to provide more opportunities to girls in both low-income and Spanish speaking communities by engaging with strategic partners, community organizations and schools to host Girl Scout troops in areas not traditionally served with the Girl Scout program

Member Duties: VISTA Members will serve to strengthen the infrastructure within the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas organization to reach more girls and provide innovative 21st-century programming designed to build female leaders of tomorrow. Members will establish new partnerships and opportunities for the financial literacy program, field trips, special events and community service projects. To ensure sustainable partnerships the VISTA members will develop reporting and tracking systems to document partnership commitments. Additionally, the members will work with partnering organizations to establish best practices for program reporting, attendance, and registration. Members will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of K-12 program curriculum. With the creation of pre-surveys and post-surveys members will conduct audits of program quality and effectiveness.

STEM Summer Camp Nurse - South Dallas

Come share your talents with us as the STEM summer camp nurse.  You will be responsible for implementing camp health care, monitoring and safeguarding camper and staff health, safety, and cleanliness standards in an outdoor setting. The Camp Nurse may be asked to participate with camper check-in, including a health check and collecting camper medication. The incumbent will need to stay overnight.

Assistant Summer Camp Director - Various locations

Looking for assistant camp directors! This position will be a member of the camp administration team and is also responsible for the planning and implementation of Girl Scout programs in outdoor settings. 

The assistant camp director will be the go-to person for handling mental health, emotional, and social health issues. The assistant camp director provides prevention and intervention consultation to the GSNETX Leadership team and designated staff on matters concerning mental health and behavioral concerns of girl participants at camp.

Incumbents will be expected to live on camp. Resident camp sessions run from June to the end of July, and camp staff training will be provided prior to camper arrival.  We are looking for two assistant camp directors for our beautiful camps: Camp Bette in Palestine, TX; Camp Gambill in Sumner, TX; Camp Rocky Point in Dennison, TX, and The STEM Center of Excellence located at Camp Whispering Cedars in Dallas, TX. 

Requirement Summary:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, child development or related field, or equivalent combination of education and practical work experience.
  • At least 1 year, or two prior seasons, of administrative or supervisory experience in an organized camp or school setting.
  • Ability to excise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, and to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent and equitable manner.
  • High level of comfort speaking to diverse audiences: girls, parents and Senior Leadership.
  • Experienced at conflict resolution.
