Girl Scouting in the School Day Group Leader - East Texas

We are the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, and we are looking for part-time Program Delivery Specialist (Group Leader) for our Girl Scouting in the School Day Program in East Texas.  With the right team of amazing people, we can help girls thrive in the 21st century. The Group Leader provides Girl Scout programs to girls in various school settings that will build courage, confidence and character in young girls. The Group Leader works with middle school girls during the school day. Will work 15 to 29 hours per week. We have positions available in the Longview and Tyler area.

AmeriCorps Positions

AmeriCorps STEM Program Facilitator

The AmeriCorps Program Facilitator is responsible for program delivery, chaperoning participants during assigned sessions, and assisting with station rotation and other girl involved activities. This person will share in the implementation and coordination of high-quality programming that meets the goals and objectives of GSNETX Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs at the STEM Center of Excellence. 

We are looking for members as diverse as the community we serve and with the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or be willing to earn one while serving (undergraduate degree strongly preferred).
  • AmeriCorps Members will have access to students age 17 or younger, thus a National Service Criminal History Check is required. Must complete and pass a criminal background check.
  • Able to commit to completing either 1700 hours of full time service over 11 months with a living allowance of $14,500.00 or;
  • Able to commit to completing 900 hours of half time service over 4 months with a living allowance of $9,000.00.
  • AmeriCorps members will be eligible for an education award upon successful completion of service with a satisfactory performance evaluation.

AmeriCorps Cookie Program VISTA

At the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX), girls learn the skills, have the experiences, and cultivate the relationships that enable them to soar in life. The Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship VISTA will collaborate with the Product Sales team to provide financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs for girls in partnership with adult volunteers.

Member Duties: The Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship VISTA member will serve to strengthen the infrastructure within the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas organization to reach more girls and provide innovative 21st-century programming designed to build female leaders of tomorrow. The VISTA will help develop tools and resources for use in financial literacy 5 skills programming and digital media/cybersecurity/website development programming for girls participating in GSNETX financial literacy programs. The VISTA will build awareness and share program information with volunteers, schools and Girl Scout Programs including low-income and community outreach groups. The VISTA will establish new partnerships and opportunities for the financial literacy program, field trips, special events and community service projects. To ensure sustainable partnerships the VISTA members will develop reporting and tracking systems to document partnership commitments.

AmeriCorps Girl Scout Academy VISTA

At the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX), girls learn the skills, have the experiences, and cultivate the relationships that enable them to soar in life. Through the Girl Scout Academy model, the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas VISTA Members will help expand GSNETX’s reach to provide more opportunities to girls in both low-income and Spanish speaking communities by engaging with strategic partners, community organizations and schools to host Girl Scout troops in areas not traditionally served with the Girl Scout program

Member Duties: VISTA Members will serve to strengthen the infrastructure within the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas organization to reach more girls and provide innovative 21st-century programming designed to build female leaders of tomorrow. Members will establish new partnerships and opportunities for the financial literacy program, field trips, special events and community service projects. To ensure sustainable partnerships the VISTA members will develop reporting and tracking systems to document partnership commitments. Additionally, the members will work with partnering organizations to establish best practices for program reporting, attendance, and registration. Members will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of K-12 program curriculum. With the creation of pre-surveys and post-surveys members will conduct audits of program quality and effectiveness.
