Girl Scout special interest groups are year-long programs designed for Girl Scouts to explore specific interests through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Dues vary based on frequency of meetings per year. Financial assistance is available. Unless otherwise stated, all groups are open to Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors only.


BIG - Backpacking Interest Group

Backpacking Interest Group (BIG) will introduce Girl Scouts of North East Texas (Juniors through Ambassadors) to backpacking and develop skills related to the activity. In addition, backpacking will provide secondary outdoor learning opportunities that would be difficult to find in other activities.   


Cookie Box Creations
Team up with architects and engineers to transform empty Girl Scout Cookie boxes into themed free-standing structures. Learn More


G.I.R.L. Retail & Design 
Girls learn the business of retail by designing a merchandise item to sell in GSNETX shops!  From product idea to sales results, and everything in between, the girls learn about working with vendors, costs, and margins, goal setting, and marketing.

Honor Guard
Honor Guard is a group of girls interested in traditions, flags, ceremonies and patriotism.  Training and development is based upon ceremonial understanding and respect for the American, Texas, Girl Scout and WAGGGS flags.  Training in Honor Guard provides girls with the opportunities to perform flag ceremonies, participate in parades and to be leaders.  This group is open to all ages.  Jessica Hallet,


LEGO Robotics Club - For girls in grades K-4
Excited about creating robots and things that move? You can start your own First LEGO League Junior Robotics Team. Have fun teaching girls all about robotics, engineering, and problem solving while partaking in this fantastic program.  Learn More.


Outdoor Adventure Interest Group

Stream Team

Stream Team turns girls into citizen scientists, creek explorors and sustainable leaders.  Girls will learn about river ecosystems, conduct scientific experiments, and explore wildlife in and around aquatic ecosystems. Contact Courtney Vanous:


Tejas Archers
This is the start of something new! We're looking for girls and adults interested in archery to  give input in the creation of an archery program for GSNETX based at the STEM Center of Excellence's range, with possible expansion to other camps and ranges. Contact:


Tejas Riders
The Tejas Riders is a premier leadership equestrian program of the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas that gives countless hours of service to the equestrian program at Camp Bette Perot, while also building leadership skills. Saturday Morning Garden Club
All girls and adults are welcome at any meeting!  Come learn something new each month, help tend the native plant garden and the butterfly-attracting meadow, "Whispering Wings", develop new skills while earning badges, and have a good time with other Girls Scouts who have a similar interest in nature.
