Camp Manager, Camp Gambill (Sumner)

Job Summary: Create programming to build girl leaders in beautiful outdoor settings! The Camp Program Manager is responsible for developing and managing the operation of overnight camp programs serving Girl Scout campers, volunteers, and families at our year-round camps. This team member serves as the primary onsite leader at camp as well as the primary programmatic leader for components of our Outdoor Leadership portfolio, with the goals of developing outdoor leadership skills in girls and providing a positive experience for all visitors. The position reports to the Director of Outdoor Leadership and is a key member of a team serving four camp properties and developing innovative, dynamic outdoor opportunities for girls in grades K-12.

STEM Overnight Camping Supervisor, The STEM Center of Excellence (Dallas)

The Overnight Camping Supervisor manages the creation, development, implementation, and evaluation of all camping experiences, including weekend and overnight family/troop camping, summer camping experiences, to build girl leaders. This position is responsible for the design of innovative and inclusive programs which offer unique and contemporary learning experiences to girls; supervision of staff and AmeriCorps team members to expand outdoor program options at the SCoE, and is the on-site lead for weekend, overnight and camp experiences.

Programming experiences include, but are not limited to: fire-building, hiking, camping, knife skills, knots, astronomy, and outdoor skills. The position reports to the Director of Education and is a key member of a team serving Girl Scout campers, youth, volunteers, and families through innovative, dynamic outdoor opportunities.

STEM Center Operations and Administrative Manager, The STEM Center of Excellence (Dallas)

Job Summary: The STEM Center of Excellence (STEM Center) is a sprawling 92-acre living laboratory located in south Dallas that provides year-round opportunities in robotics, computer science, engineering, space science, cybersecurity, aviation and more.  Through the STEM Center, GSNETX is changing the workforce pipeline in STEM to meet the urgent need for female voices, engagement, and leadership in the fastest growing sector of the U.S. Economy.  

The Operations and Administrative Manager is responsible for the logistical planning, daily operations, and administrative oversight of the STEM Center.  The position has excellent interpersonal skills, is highly organized, proactive, is a team player, enjoys working in a dynamic environment and makes exemplary customer service a priority for all stakeholders.

Summer Seasonal Positions

Day Camp Counselor, Summer 2023 The STEM Center of Excellence (Dallas)

Job Summary: Camp Program Staff are responsible for leading a fun, impactful summer camp program for all campers. Staff live in cabins, platform tents, or lodges (group living), develop relationships, care for campers, lead program activities, and participate fully in daily camp life. This team member serves as a caring mentor, fun companion, patient teacher, positive role model, and helpful problem solver. The position reports to the Camp Director at your assigned camp property. Paid staff training is provided at the beginning of the summer. Program staff live onsite during work.

Job Summary: Camp support staff are responsible for supporting the operation of an effective summer camp program for campers and staff by providing food service or housekeeping service. This team member serves as a positive role model, cooperative teammate, and helpful problem solver. The position reports to the Camp Director or other supervising staff at your assigned camp property. Paid staff training is provided at the beginning of the summer.

Camp Program Staff (Various Properties)

Camp Bette Perot (Palestine, TX) hires multiple roles, and Camp Gambill (Sumner, TX) hires all Program Specialists.

Job Summaries: 

  • Counselor (Camp Bette Perot, age 18+): Live in platform tents, cabins, or lodges with Girl Scout campers. Care for campers day and night plus lead activities and other aspects of the daily camp program.
  • Junior Counselor (Camp Bette Perot, age 16-17, rising junior or senior in high school): Work in partnership with other counselors and leaders to serve girls while developing your own leadership skills. To be eligible, must meet ONE of the following: (1) completion of at least one year of CIT/MIT/WIT program in previous summer OR (2) at least two years as a past GSNETX summer camper.
  • Program Specialist (Camp Gambill and Camp Bette Perot, age 18+): Lead outdoor activities and other aspects of daily camp program. Program Specialists at Camp Gambill must complete waterfront lifeguard certification.

Fall/Spring Seasonal Positions

STEM Program Delivery Assistant, The STEM Center of Excellence (Dallas)

Job Duties:

 

  • Assists with the set-up, implementation of STEM and outdoor education workshops for Girl Scouts during the academic year.
  • Assists with the set-up, implementation of STEM and outdoor education program for field trips as assigned.
  • Assists with planning and implementation of STEM Center backpack program.
  • Becomes familiar with STEM Center of Excellence’s program library, including, but not limited to: backpack programming, field trips, workshops, journeys, family event themes and summer camp.
  • Remains fully, actively, physically present and hands-on during event set up, facilitation, and clean up.
  • Responds to related emails and calls within 48 business hours.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service.
  • Maintains professional appearance and interactions at all times.
  • Can handle multiple tasks as one time and demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Willing to work additional programs and events based on demand, time of year and facility needs
